Mango exports to US resume after error rectified

Export of mangoes from India to the US are back to normal after rectification of the error in one of the irradiation facilities, pertaining to the irradiation treatment carried out on May 8-9, which led to the eventual rejection of 12 mango consignments by the US.  This facility also sees the maximum volume of mangoes for irradiation destined for the US. The error was rectified on May 10, and there was no impact on the other two irradiation facilities. India’s export of mangoes to the US has been skyrocketing, registering a growth of 130%, with value increasing from $4.36 million in 2022-23 to $10.01 million in 2023-24. India is the 6th largest exporter of mangoes in the world, as per a report.
