India’s textile exports during FY25 stood at around $36.6 billion. Launched at a time of shifting global trade dynamics and new tariff alignments, the roadmap positions India to become a preferred sourcing destination and a global leader in textile manufacturing, Primus said. The textile sector is one of India’s oldest and most vital industries, contributing approximately 2.3% to India’s GDP, 13% to industrial production and 10.5% to total exports. Globally, India ranks as the second-largest producer of textiles and garments and the fifth-largest exporter, encompassing a wide range of products including apparel, home furnishings and technical textiles, as per a report.
