The Advance Authorization Scheme issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) is a flagship export promotion scheme of the Government of India. It allows exporters to import inputs required for manufacturing export products without payment of customs duty, thereby reducing production costs and improving global competitiveness. This certification is widely used by manufacturers, merchant exporters and service providers engaged in export-oriented operations, enabling them to procure raw materials, components, consumables and fuel on a duty-free basis, subject to fulfillment of export obligations.
