Notification No. 8/2012-Central Excise (N.T.)

G.S.R (E). – In exercise of the powers conferred by section 37 of the Central Excise Act,
1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend
the Central Excise Rules, 2002, namely :-

1. (1) These rules may be called the Central Excise (Second Amendment) Rules, 2012.

(2) They shall come into force on the 17
th
day of March, 2012.

2. In the Central Excise Rules, 2002,
(i) In rule 8, in sub rule (3), for word, figures and letters “Section 11AB”, word, figures and
letters “section 11AA” shall be substituted

(ii) In rule 8A, in sub-rule (3), for words figures and letter “Section 11AB, word, figures and
letters “section 11AA” shall be substituted

(iii) In rule 12AA,
(a)-in sub-rule (1), the proviso shall be omitted;
(b)Explanation 2 shall be omitted
(iv) In rule 12BB, for words figures and letter “Section 11AB”wherever it occurs, word,
figures and letters “section 11AA” shall be substituted
