In exercise of the powers conferred by section 27A of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962) and in supersession of the
notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 21 /2001 -Customs (N. T.),
dated the 11
th
May, 2001 [ GSR 354 (E), dated the 11
th
May, 2001 ], the Central Government hereby fixes the rate of interest
at eight per cent. per annum for the purposes of the said section.
