Notification No. 13/2004 - Customs (N.T.)
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 79 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government makes the
following rules further to amend the Baggage Rules, 1998, namely:-
1.(1)
These rules may be called the Baggage (Second Amendment)
Rules, 2004.
(2)
They shall come into force on and the date of their publication in
the Official Gazette.

In the
Baggage
Rules,
1998,-
(A) in
Appendix
A,-
(i)
in column (1), for the figures and word, "12 years", occurring in
each items (a), (b), (c) and (d), the figures and word "10 years"
shall be substituted;
(ii)
against item (a) in column (1), in column (2), in item (ii), for the
letters and figures "Rs.12,000", the letters and figures
"Rs.25,000" shall be substituted;
(iii)
against item (b) in column (1), in column (2), in item (ii), for the
letters and figures "Rs.6000", the letters and figures "Rs.12,000"
shall be substituted.
(iv)
against item (c) in column (1), in column (2), in item (ii), for the
letters and figures "Rs.3,000", the letters and figures "Rs.6,000"
shall be substituted;
(v)
against item (d) in column (1), in column (2), in item (ii), for the
letters and figures "Rs.1,500", the letters and figures "Rs.3,000"
shall be substituted;
(B) in
Appendix
B,-
(i)
in column (1), for the figures and word, "12 years", occurring in
each items (i ) and (ii), the figures and word "10 years" shall be
substituted;
(ii)
against item (i ) in column (1), in column (2), in item (ii), for the
letters and figures, "Rs.3,000", the letters and figures "Rs.6,000"
shall be substituted;
(iii)
against item (ii) in column (1), in column (2), in item (ii), for the
letters and figures, "Rs.750", the letters and figures "Rs.1,500"
shall be substituted;
(C) in
Appendix
C,-
(i) against item (a) in column (1), in column (2),-
(a)
in item (i ), for the letters and figures,
"Rs.6,000", the letters and figures
"Rs.12,000" shall be substituted;
(b)
in item (ii), for the letters and figures,
"Rs.10,000", the letters and figures
"Rs.20,000" shall be substituted;
(ii) against item (b) in column (1), in column (2),-
(a)
in item ( i ), for the letters and figures,
"Rs.6,000", the letters and figures
"Rs.12,000" shall be substituted;
(b)
in item ( i ), for the letters and figures,
"Rs.20,000", the letters and figures
"Rs.40,000" shall be substituted;

(i)
against item (b) in column (1), in column (2), in item (ii), for the
letters and figures, "Rs.4,000", the letters and figures "Rs.8,000"
shall be substituted;
(ii)
against item (d) in column (1), in column (2) , in item (ii), for the
letters and figures, "Rs.3,000", the letters and figures Rs.6,000"
shall be substituted.
