G.S.R.....(E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 146 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the
Central Board of Excise and Customs hereby makes the following regulations further to amend the Customs House Agents
Licensing Regulations, 2004, namely:-
1. (1) These regulations may be called the Customs House Agents Licensing Regulation, 2012.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In regulation 11 of the Customs House Agents Licensing Regulations, 2004,-
(a) in sub-regulation (1), the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:-
"Provided that licence granted to a Customs House Agent, authorized under the Authorised Economic Operator Programme,
shall be valid till such time the authorization granted to the Customs House Agent under the Authorised Economic Operator
Programme is valid.".
(b) in sub-regulation (3), the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:-
"Provided that there shall be no fee for renewal of a licence under sub-regulation (2) in respect of the Customs House Agents
authorized under the Authorised Economic Operator Programme.".
