description Light commercial air conditioning refers to HVAC systems designed for smaller commercial spaces or businesses with relatively lower cooling demands compared to larger commercial or industrial establishments. They are more robust than typical residential air conditioning but not as powerful or extensive as those used in larger commercial settings. Light commercial AC units are commonly used in small retail shops, small offices, restaurants or clinics. Fixed speed compressors of LCAC run at a constant speed, meaning they operate at full capacity whenever they are on, providing a steady cooling output. These systems are relatively simpler in design compared to variable-speed or inverter-driven compressors, making them more cost-effective to purchase and install. Note: Every manufacturer of light commercial ACs must obtain BEE registration and adhere to the guidelines outlined in the Indian standard – IS 1391 (Part 2) to ensure their safety and energy-efficient operation.
