product Sodium Formaldehyde Sulphoxylate
certification BIS ISI Certification
Standard IS 4505:2015
description A chemical product with several uses, sodium formaldehyde sulphoxylate is mostly used as a reducing agent and stabilizer in the paper, textile, chemical synthesis, and photo industries. Sulfur dioxide and zinc dust are combined in an aqueous suspension to produce zinc hydrosulfite solution, which is then used in its manufacturing process. Formaldehyde and more zinc dust are added to this solution to create a basic zinc formaldehyde sulphoxylate. This complex is then broken down using caustic soda, resulting in the creation of insoluble zinc hydroxide and sodium formaldehyde sulphoxylate. Sodium formaldehyde sulphoxylate is used in a variety of industrial processes due to its capacity to promote reduction reactions and regulate color and oxidation processes.
